On May 14th, the president approved the Iowa request for a Presidential Major Disaster Declaration. This opens up programs under the FEMA Individual Assistance Program as well as the SBA Disaster Recovery Programs.

Residents in Pottawattamie County can now apply for the Individual Assistance Program, which provides disaster-affected homeowners, renters, & businesses with programs & services to maximize recovery, including assistance with housing, personal property replacement, medical expenses, & legal services.

Disaster Case Advocacy is a supportive program involving a partnership between a disaster-impacted household and a disaster case advocate. Disaster case advocates walk beside households through the disaster recovery process.
